First Day in Costa Rica

We started the day around 9:00, giving ourselves lots of time to sleep in and recoup. We ate breakfast iin the hostel.

We left shortly after, on a mission to the local indoor market. We passed the National Museum of Costa Rica, some of the court buildings, and lots of shopping areas. We spent about 3 hours walking around downtown San Jose and exploring the museum.

We spend the rest of the afternoon recovering, enjoying the sun by the pool, and eating some fruit we picked up in the afternoon.

The market had very tight walkways

We bought some mangos from this stand

The butterfly garden in the museum

There were not a lot of butterflies, but these larva must have been an inch in circumfrance, and about 3 inches long. We were pretty sure these larva were dead though.

An average street.

1 out of three butterflies, this one held still for a photo.

We reserved a rafting trip for tomorrow. We will spend the rest of the night checking out a few local bars.

Wishing for the best on your adventures,
