Trip Coming to an End

Yesterday at 10:00 pm I caught a bus to Bangkok. This time I went on a big bus, not a van. The trip went well, and I arrived at Bangkok around 2:00. I grabbed a taxi to the Skytrain station, and then took the skytrain to my destination. For the next two nights I will be staying in a small apartment/condo. I wanted an area to make sure I can really pack and be prepared for the flight home.  Pictured it is the small apartment I rented, along with the view.

Today I woke up around 7:00 and got ready to go to Wat Pho. This is a temple in central Bangkok famous for a 46 meter long reclining Buddha. It also has lots of other things to offer as well. The entrance fee is 100 Baht, or about 3 USD. Th total transit time to the temple from the apartment was about 1 hour and 20 minuets. I decided to go early ignorer to beat most of the crowds and to avoid the heat of the day. The weather worked out in my favor, being overcast and cooler then normal. I had to walk about 40 min. thought the China Town District, which was a little sketchy, but I made sure to stay close to the main roads.

Some reference to Chinese art, proof of the influence China had
on Thailand.

Lots of stray cats.

The most famous attraction, the relining Buddha.

You donate 20 Baht and the temple gives you 25 and 50 cent coins
to drop in these bowls as a way to create good merit.

How many lizards? I saw them chilling on my walk back.

Some cool street art.

I won't be posting another blog until I arrive back in the states. Although this trip has been fun, I am glad to see my friends and family back home.

Wishing for the best on your adventures,
Cienna
