Back in September, I decided that I should satisfy my wanderlust, and I proceeded to book my ticket to Thailand. I originally thought I would be traveling with my friend, but she was unable to go due to a increasingly large amount of homework to do over the winter break. I thought that I might as well go anyways, and experience some solo traveling, even if that means going into the unknown. My plain leaves on December 11, at 6:00 am. My anxiety about the trip increases, but so does my excitement. I chose Thailand because I have already spent some time there, so the language barrier won't be so bad, but also because I still know so little about the country. I will have plenty of areas to explore while also have some familiarity with it all. I plan on visiting my host families and some friends, and also making new friends along the way. I leave the country of smiles on the 29, arriving back in the states on the 30. Along those 17 days In Thailand I will try to document my journey, with photos and stories. My plan is to spend a day of recuperation in Bangkok, then go to a province called Kanchanaburi. I will participate in a program called Elephantsworld. I am very excited for that. After spending time with some elephants, I will go to my town I spend my exchange in, Nakhon Pathom. I plan to spend about a week there, reconnecting with some friends and family. After that I will travel down to Hua Hin, a beach city. I will spend about a week there as well, before heading back to Bangkok for a day, and then heading home.
On another note, here are some photos I have taken recently that I enjoy.
